My sister, Mikayla Rose, is such an amazing talent! I wanted to give her a little special lovin'. She has been working on song writing and recording. Just hold on, it'll happen soon enough! I know we're all dying for an original. But for now, you won't be disappointed with some of her covers. Check out one of her newest ones "I Kissed a Girl" by Katy Perry - Cover.

LIFE // HAPPY FRIDAY

All the Chicago autumn weather in the air... I'm excited for this weekend! It's my family's annual "Clam Bake". Yes, they really bake clams and even eat them! They're a crazy group of people. We all get together every end of September or beginning of October and cooks lots of good food, have a great, big bonfire, blast some music, and just hang out together. It's almost like a little family reunion so I'll have a ton of mingling to do. It's my boyfriend's first time joining us, I hope he's excited to eat all night (we're Italian, it's part of the deal). What are you guys up to this weekend? Any socializing, stress-free fun!? Have a great weekend XO.

REMEMBER // 9-11

Never Forget

Remembering September 11th 2001

Today is a day that reflects a significant day in US history. September 11th 2001 was the day our Twin Towers were attacked by Al Qaeda. For the last 12 years, our country has suffered from fears with our security, war, and economy. I was in 3rd grade when the terrorist organization attacked NYC. I will never forget the teachers in my small elementary school that were trying to mask their fear to keep the students safe. I remember being picked up by my mom, who was crying and terrified of what was going to come next after NYC.

The after effect has lasted still to this day. People fail to recognize that historical events, such as 9/11, really do effect our economy and way of life. As a society, we have more fear of what these terrorist groups are capable of. Raising a child in this day of age seems to be scarier than what it was 20+ years ago.

Scrolling through my different social media sites like, Facebook and Instagram, I see people making comments such as "Happy 9/11" and that our government had set this up as some kind of conspiracy theory. I think its safe to say that as American people, we understand that there is  some corruption within our government forces, for example the IRS scandal. However, to think that our country would create or favor this event...that is just absurd. The only 'happy' aspect about the anniversaries is that we are a country that holds FREEDOM. We should be thankful that today, we are alive and living a life that most other countries' citizens dream to have.

Today, please take a moment to be truly thankful to be safe and free. A huge thank you to those who were there that day 12 years ago, who risked their lives to safe all of those they could.

March Snow Storm

Well, although I'm just waiting for spring weather. I decided to have some fun with the recent Chicago March snow storm. Up to 10 inches in March, can you believe it!? My sister and I attempted for a photo shoot off a lake nearby. Here's some fun shots we got for the whole 20 minutes we lasted out there! Stay warm, my fellow mid-westerners.

H&M: Conscious Collection

My apologies for my mini M.I.A episode...working, full time student, and being sick isn't the easier combo to tackle. Any who! Wanna know who has been receiving a lot of buzz lately? One of my favorite places to shop...H&M! The company was caught on the runway during the Oscar's as Helen Hunt flaunts a strapless, navy gown by this fast-fashion retailer. This is perfect timing as H&M launches their Spring 2013 Conscious Collection. Partnering with Global Green USA, H&M encourages their customers to bring in old clothing in order to receive discounts on future store merchandise. To you Eco-friendly shoppers, this Conscious Collection uses fabrics such as organic cotton and recycled polyester in hopes to raise environmental awareness. H&M will be hosting their first fashion show since 2005 here shortly (I will definitely keep you updated with that!). This brand is surely maintaining their successful, stylish reputation. Take a look below for Helen Hunt rocking that navy and look book pictures featuring model, Vanessa Paradis, from H&M: Spring 2013 Conscious Collection
