About the designer:

Jennifer Veguilla, the founder of Bella + Sophia, knows how to juggle it all. This mother, entrepreneur, professional, and creative, is truly an inspiration to all women out there. Growing up in poor areas of Chicago, Jennifer witnessed violence and drug/gang activity within her own home. Most would say she was doomed for failure, however, Jennifer ran in the opposite direction to make something of herself and a better future for her children. With a background in corporate PR and marketing management, she left her corporate career to follow her true passion, designing. 

Behind the brand:

Bella+Sophia Clothing is a brand about putting heart and soul into fashion, the one passion and dream Jennifer aimed for. And she did just that. This childrenswear line partners with organizations such as 360 Youth Services, where she gives a portion of all her sales back to the community. She is a true believer that we can change the world and it starts with children, to be the best mother and role model for them to grow into inspiring, healthy adults.

HAIRSTYLES // FALL 2013

Although there is of course fashion trends, trends don't stop there. Beauty has its trends, too. Here are four of the top haircut and hairstyle trends to get for this fall, all inspired by iconic celebrities.

PERSONAL STYLE // DRESSING DOWN IN LAYERS

I've been trying my hardest to wait this one out for posting, to add some dramatics, but I couldn't resist after only a week! ha! These are by far some of my favorite pictures. With a high fashion feel, yet a quaint, cottage-like setting, I think these are some powerful pictures. Secret, deep down passion... me behind a camera. I love being able to capture moments I see. Then, being able to use my art direction to edit them into the vision even further. 

We kept with the crisp, fall air... dressing down a dress with some layers. A new mix, flannel and black blazer. Don't put those summer shoes away quite yet, adding some knee high socks can keep your warmer and keep you stylish.

Hello, world! Wow I'm really excited about my next few style posts! I had an amazing autumn photo shoot at a cute little downtown area near my place! This outfit is about utilizing a boyfriend styled blazer into your casual wardrobe. My model and good friend, Jazmin, did such an amazing job! Get ready for some sweater weather paired with acid wash jeans and some slip-on shoes... perfect for a coffee date or charming local shopping!

TREND QUICK GUIDE // FALL 2013

Well, as many of us in the fashion world know, NYFW has just finished. Here's a little quick guide to this season's fashion trends for you to incorporate fashion-forward into your own, individual style. 

GRAY SLATE

It's not always black and white. Use gray as a neutral this fall, in all different shades.

This season is back to over-sized, cozy knits, high boots, touches of fur trim and tweed outerwear. The rural inspired looks are meant to be seen in chic.

Contrasting denim, dark pants with a light top, creating a totally neutral, chic look. Watches are of course that hipster accessory. Throwing on some 70s inspired sunnies illuminate a vintage glow.

On another one of my Pinterest rampages. With all the Chicago spring in the air, I've been feeling girly with my bare legs and dresses! (Goodbye tights for the next 6 months!) Something about spring makes me always want to wear pink. Here's a sink into pink to keep you spring inspired.

Denim Desire

One of my current cravings...denim shirts. Every time I go shopping, I'm just gravitated toward any shirt with denim on it! It's so easy to throw on with some jeans with cute, colorful flats or your combat boots (one of my most cherished possessions). It makes accessorizing fun, too! With some funky jewelry to individualize it. One of my favorite looks is one with some boyish flavor, which is exactly what this does.

H&M: Conscious Collection

My apologies for my mini M.I.A episode...working, full time student, and being sick isn't the easier combo to tackle. Any who! Wanna know who has been receiving a lot of buzz lately? One of my favorite places to shop...H&M! The company was caught on the runway during the Oscar's as Helen Hunt flaunts a strapless, navy gown by this fast-fashion retailer. This is perfect timing as H&M launches their Spring 2013 Conscious Collection. Partnering with Global Green USA, H&M encourages their customers to bring in old clothing in order to receive discounts on future store merchandise. To you Eco-friendly shoppers, this Conscious Collection uses fabrics such as organic cotton and recycled polyester in hopes to raise environmental awareness. H&M will be hosting their first fashion show since 2005 here shortly (I will definitely keep you updated with that!). This brand is surely maintaining their successful, stylish reputation.
